Google's Le etet ce moi: collaborate to dominate

This a bit if an oldie now, but still very much a digital goldie. For me this succinct ad campaign for Google's gmail has all the components of a good digital campaign.

Firstly, Google engaged their audience and invited them to contribute in the creation of the ad itself. The end result was not only a very creative ad execution, but had over1.5m video views and over 1,000 entries.

The competition was supported with a branded youtube page, where view's could interact and share inspiration.

As well as a dedicated blog, with an open api for Google maps to map where the entries came from globally.

Google might be chastised for being an online monopoly, but they can't be faulted for understanding how to create engaging advertising in the digital age.
